Bumble Teams Up With Teyana Taylor To Create Series Centered On The Black Dating Experience

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Bumble, the renowned women-first dating app, has partnered with the multifaceted Teyana Taylor to produce a compelling series delving into the experiences of Black individuals navigating the realm of dating. Taylor's all-women production company, The Aunties, took the helm in producing and directing the series, developed in collaboration with the Black-owned creative agency, 19th & Park.

The timing of this series is impeccable, aligning with a 2022 Bumble survey that uncovered a significant sentiment among respondents. A staggering 35% expressed dissatisfaction with mainstream media's representation of the Black experience in matters of love. Additionally, 45% of African American respondents articulated a desire for increased visibility of love in the Black community to foster a sense of worthiness.

Christina Hardy, Bumble’s Director of Talent and Influencer, shared insights into the series, stating, “It was important to us to honor the wide range of what love in the Black community looks like and tackle conversations from a variety of viewpoints, preferences, and generational lenses. Luv2SeeIt aims to recognize, reflect, and represent the Black community – my community – within our brand. I hope this series inspires all walks of life to continue making the first move in their lives.”

The six-episode series, hosted by Taylor, promises engaging conversations with some of the most influential celebrities. Expect to hear insights from the likes of Sean “Diddy” Combs, Lori Harvey, Madison Bailey, Iman Shumpert, Jidenna, Niecy Nash and daughter Dia, Joey Bada$$, and many more. Topics covered include dating as a nonbinary person, exploring polyamory and open relationships, discussions around sex and intimacy, identifying dating profile red flags, and navigating the journey back to dating after experiencing loss.

Teyana Taylor, the host and producer of Luv2SeeIt, expressed her gratitude for the project, stating, “Working with the Bumble crew on Luv2SeeIt has been an incredible project. Grateful to have worked with great partners who trusted the Aunties to bring such sensitive and special topics to life. Black love is so multifaceted, and the conversations I had with friends and strangers alike were so authentic, which I hope viewers can feel, too. I hope that people get an opportunity to see themselves reflected in these stories and enjoy these episodes as much as I loved hosting them.”
